Yesterday Mike Butcher twittered that he had forgotten to get a prize for the winner of the startup competition at the Geek’n’rolla conference today. After reading the recent chatter on the trouble that JC Penney got into for buying links and then finding numerous statements from Google’s Matt Cutts that they will punish sites that sell links which [...] As you might have seen Amazon announced the acquisition of Lovefilm yesterday for a rumoured £200m. Exits of this magnitude haven’t been too common of late in the UK startup scene so we, along with the Lovefilm management team and the other shareholders were very happy to see this deal completed. Particular congratulations [...] Milo Yiannopoulos in association with the Daily Telegraph is pulling together a list of the top 100 tech startups. There are a number of such lists around and I think many of them make a strong contribution to the startup ecosystem.
