Second Life growing real fast

Second Life log

I got a little dis-illusioned with Second Life when the brouhaha over their numbers broke out a couple of months ago.  I didn’t lose my conviction that virtual worlds are going to become very important, but I started to wonder if it would be a long time before that happened.  I posted about this in some detail: Second Life Reality Check.

Well now some good news, for the believers out there anyway.

According to Second Life Research analysis of Linden Labs data the daily average of residents concurrently online quadrupled from 6,000 to 24,000 over the last seven months.

That is some growth.  I will be watching more closely again now for VC opportunities.

I was pointed to this data by a Second Life mailing list I joined last week.  Thanks to Colin for putting me on to it.

  • Nic,
I am working with a friend of mine (from the French ministry of economy) on an economic model for SL.
It’s a very strange “two side market”.

I’ve suscribe to the list, thanks.
